International Gin and Tonic day

19 October 2017

Thursday 19 October has been designated International Gin and Tonic Day – and what better way to celebrate than to raise a glass of it at Towcester Mill Brewery and be part of the gin-revolution!

Towcester Mill Brewery now has an impressive 27 different gins available in its tap room and 25 in the shop as the drink is becoming ever more popular.

“Even though the heart of our business in the tap room is real ale,” explained tap room manager Sam Milthorpe, “it’s important to us that we have a really great offer for anyone who prefers something a little different. Everyone knows that gin has become one of Britain’s most popular tipples and we are lucky enough to have some great local distilleries on our doorstep producing some beautifully flavoured gins which everyone seems to enjoy!”

Some of the gins in the tap room and shop are produced very locally, including Phipps and Warner Edwards from Northants, Foxdenton from Bucks, Burleighs and Two Birds from Leicestershire, Willow Tree from Bedfordshire and Keepr’s from the Cotswolds.

“Warner Edwards rhubarb gin is still our best seller,” added Sam. “Mix it with a premium ginger ale, served with ice and fresh lime in a gin goblet and you’ve got a very attractive and refreshing drink.”

The Brewery’s shop, located at the Bell Plantation Garden Centre, not only sells the different bottles of speciality gins, but you can pick up beautiful gin goblets, miniatures and even make your own gin hampers, which make ideal Christmas presents. The shop will also be open later than normal until 8.30pm on Thursday 26 October offering samples of the different gins.

And, if you want to try before you buy, then get into the festive spirit and come along to The Mill’s first ever gin event on Saturday 16 December – GINgle all the way! Your ticket includes two G&Ts, your very own gin goblet to take home, five gin samples and nibbles. Kindly supported by Burleighs Gin who will be sharing their gin knowledge and hints and tips on how to make the perfect gin! Tickets available from www.towcestermillbrewery.co.uk. Cheers!
